Winemaker’s select Pinot noir.

We have made great wines at High Pass before, but this wine is the most complete and complex wine ever made.  Ruby with dark berry flavors. It is as refreshing and bright as a young wine can be, with great cellaring potential. Enjoy this wine for the next 10 years, and experience it  as it develops.

2015 Pinot Noir, Union School Vineyard. (750 ml) -$ 40.00.  Unfiltered. 92 points - Wine Enthusiast.

Union School is our sister vineyard, planted in 2005. This is the first time we have made a vineyard-designated Pinot Noir from this vineyard. Previously we had sold the grapes to other wineries, or blended the grapes in our Willamette Valley Line Pinot Noir. This vineyard has a higher elevation and a south facing slope. The concave shape of the land heats up the air which rises then helps to create a warm sheltered microclimate. The wine is intensely concentrated with impeccable balance. Only 200 cases were made. Aged in 100% French oak for 10 months, it is drinkable now. With a couple of years aging in the bottle, it will only get better. This wine is loaded with “wine diamonds”, they are really quite pretty ?
